Part 1: Distribute and maintain the quality framework

Michael pensive

Well, the best option seems to be a face-to-face presentation at a team meeting combined with a summary published in the SimuLab News. Download a copy of SimuLab News Issue 01 from the company intranet. Now that you know how you are going to deliver the information to new employees the next thing you have to decide is what you are going to tell them.

Are you familiar with the Australian and international standards that relate to quality systems? Are you also familiar with documents available from NATA that relate to these standards, and the SimuLab quality system documents?

One of the important aspects of implementing a quality system within an enterprise is get everyone involved. Everybody within SimuLab has a role to play to ensure that the enterprise provides a quality service to its customers. Everyone needs to be made aware that a quality management system is in place and they need to be trained about their responsibilities under the system. What level of training and staff communication is required? Initially, before any in depth training is undertaken, all staff members at SimuLab need to be told the answers to four basic questions:

  1. What is the quality system?

  2. Why is it important?

  3. Why should I have to do this?

  4. What do I need to know?

Are you familiar with the eight principles that are fundamental to the management of quality? All the requirements of ISO 9000:2000 are related to one or more of these principles.
