Part 4: Initiate and monitor training programs

The NATA assessment is really getting close ... only about two and a half weeks to go...

Fortunately senior management has approved your training proposal which takes a little bit of pressure off you; at least the audit team will see that you have initiated training in your area to help close some of the staff competency gaps. You really want your chosen training options to be a big hit with the staff but you also want management to realise that their investment in your group's training was not a waste of money and effort and that they will see adequate return on their money.

Well...it seems like you have a bit to do before the training starts.

You've put in all the hard work and spent a lot of time evaluating the courses available and the course material. You have also attempted to evaluate the training organisations, and you are well aware of that saying:

"Good trainers can make a poorly developed program work well and a well developed program work great...bad trainers can make neither work."

Michael, Gary, Peter and Olga

You wanted the training to have a mix of styles during the course: formal presentations and activities (whole group, small team and individual). This mix could also include a mix of visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and metacognitive activities.
